Make Plans for George Paul Memorial Bull Riding

DEL RIO, Texas (April 18, 2008) --- The 31st Annual George Paul Memorial Bull Riding will be held at the Val Verde County Fairgrounds on May 3 & 4.

Keeping the tradition of Rockin’ on the Rio Grande, several activities are planned in conjunction with the competition, and some of those will be held across the border in Acuna, Mexico. Be prepared to cross the border by having either a passport or driver’s license along with an original birth certificate.

Proper documentation will allow access to both sides of the border without a hitch and give both fans and contestants an opportunity to participate in all activities. The George Paul Memorial Bull Riding wants everyone to have a great time in Del Rio and Acuna.

Kick-off parties start on Wednesday, April 30 at Diamond Lil’s in Del Rio. Acuna will host Thursday and Friday night’s entertainment. Thursday’s party will be at the Corona Club and Friday’s will be at Macarena.

Saturday’s competition starts at 7 p.m. and will feature Bad Company Rodeo’s Walk This Way as the bounty bull, where a rider will get the chance to meet the beast for a $10,000 bounty. Sunday’s action starts at 3 p.m.

Tickets are available at the George Paul Museum, 810 South Main, Corral West, Sam’s Boot Corral, Border Federal Credit Union and Wal-Mart. For ticket information call 830-775-9595.
